Historic Stalvey-Hilliard Cemetery

Clinch County, Georgia

Some of the earliest settlers of South Georgia rest here. The cemetery was established in 1846, when Elizabeth Stalvey (wife of John Stalvey) and mother of Benjamin Stalvey was buried on Benjamin's land. The historic cemetery in Clinch County had often been neglected over the years until a complete overhaul in 2022. That overhaul cost one of the descendants nearly $5,000 out of his own pocket because he wanted to get it right. If you love this county, its history, and its people will you consider a donation of any size to pay for this labor of love? There's a GoFundMe account set up here and lots of information below.

This page is dedicated to the story of those who came before and the man who brought his ancestors' cemetery back to life.
